In my youth I became a foreign service officer and got posted to the U.S. embassies in the Dominican Republic, Japan (twice), Russia, and Macedonia. Plus a stint in Havana for several weeks. After a sufficiency of diplomatic adventures, I left the State Department with a smile on my face. Now I write fiction and humor instead of cables and talking points. My top project has been a novel, a family drama set in post-Castro Cuba, for which I am seeking representation.
